Welcome to 2024-2025 Belvidere Braves Wrestling and cheer team
Belvidere Wrestling and Cheer
The Belvidere Braves Youth Wrestling Organization provides a safe and educational wrestling and cheer program for local youth athletes. We concentrate on teaching technical wrestling and the many valuable life lessons learned in the process.
Our Wrestling and Cheer Teams for the 2024-2025 Season
Available for all Belvidere, White, Hope, and Harmony K-8 Athletes
3 WRESTLING TEAMS
Novice Team - The novice team is for our inexperienced, first and second year wrestlers in K - 3rd grade. At this level we introduce the sport of wrestling through fun practices. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday 5-6pm. We will have several jamboree style matches and an end of the year novice tournament. Wrestlers that show maturity and a willingness to get better will be invited to join the JV team.
JV Team - The JV team is for K-8 wrestlers that have advanced beyond novice division but are not yet ready to move to the varsity level. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7pm. At this level we will concentrate mastering the basics of wrestling including the mindset it take to succeed in this sport. We will have JV level dual matches and tournaments throughout the season. Wrestlers that show maturity and a willingness to get better will be invited to join the varsity team.
Varsity Team - The varsity team is for our most dedicated K-8 wrestlers. Practices will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-7pm. This team is part of the North New Jersey Youth Wrestling League. There are 20 weight classes ranging from 50lbs to 165+lbs. There will be dual meets, quad meets, tournaments, and both individual and team post season events. At this level we perfect basic wrestling and begin to transition the wrestler to the High School level.
2 CHEER TEAMS
We have 2 cheer teams for our k-8 cheerleaders. The littles are our k-3rd grade cheerleaders and the bigs are our 4th-8th grade cheerleaders. Practice days and times TBD.
