Belvidere Wrestling and Cheer
The Belvidere Braves Youth Wrestling Program is dedicated to providing a safe and enriching environment where K-8 students can learn and grow through the sport of wrestling and cheer. Our focus is on developing technical wrestling skills while imparting valuable life lessons that will serve our athletes both on and off the mat.
Our Wrestling and Cheer Teams for the 2024-2025 Season
Available for all Belvidere, White, Hope, and Harmony K-8 Athletes
3 WRESTLING TEAMS
Novice Team - The novice team is for our inexperienced, first and second year wrestlers in K - 3rd grade. At this level we introduce the sport of wrestling through fun practices. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday 5-6pm. We will have several jamboree style matches and an end of the year novice tournament. Wrestlers that show maturity and a willingness to get better will be invited to join the JV team.
JV Team - The JV team is for K-8 wrestlers that have advanced beyond novice division but are not yet ready to move to the varsity level. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7pm. At this level we will concentrate mastering the basics of wrestling including the mindset it take to succeed in this sport. We will have JV level dual matches and tournaments throughout the season. Wrestlers that show maturity and a willingness to get better will be invited to join the varsity team.
Varsity Team - The varsity team is for our most dedicated K-8 wrestlers. Practices will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-7pm. This team is part of the North New Jersey Youth Wrestling League. There are 20 weight classes ranging from 50lbs to 165+lbs. There will be dual meets, quad meets, tournaments, and both individual and team post season events. At this level we perfect basic wrestling and begin to transition the wrestler to the High School level.
2 CHEER TEAMS
We have 2 cheer teams for our k-8 cheerleaders. The littles are our k-3rd grade cheerleaders and the bigs are our 4th-8th grade cheerleaders. Practice days and times TBD.

Our Winning Moments
Practice Schedule for the 2024-2025 season
Novice Wrestling Team
Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday starting Tuesday, November 19th at 5PM. Please arrive at 450 and enter the through the side stairway door. Head downstairs to the hallway and put your bags and street clothes in the cubbies. Dress in slim fitting, soft gym clothes with 0 buttons or zippers. Wrestlers fingers nails should be cut and wrestlers should wash hands before practice. Wrestling shoes will be required and must be put on in the hall prior to practice. Do not wear your wrestling shoes on the way to practice unless with crocs or slippers over. Bring a water bottle. Be dressed and ready to enter the room at 5PM. Practice will end at 550. Novice parents must stay at the school for the duration of the practice.

Parents please be in the hallway by 645PM for pickup. We will be doing some Friday practices at local club programs, details TBA.
